It has been ages since I posted! I know! Where have I been? It seems like yesterday I posted about Estes Park!
Well, let me tell you about my travels. After the fun-filled vacation in CO I got to go to Long Beach, CA. What fun that was! Debbie Caffrey and I went in early so that we could relax and have more vacation time. I do believe I have been missing something all this time without vacations. We went to a couple of art shows and wineries. We also took advantage of a comedy club across the street from our hotel. When I go into a job being that relaxed it makes all the difference. The classes went smoothly and all was wonderful. I look forward to that show. The food, weather and people are just great. Remember July and Long Beach…you will be glad you did.
Then there was Nashville, TN. What a great time I had there. They treated me so well. It is always nice when program chairs are nice to deal with. They make me feel so lucky to be working with them. A large group of quilters joined me on Assembly Day and we all had some good laughs.
From there I drove to Rock Hill, SC. On the way back from the lecture, at 9:15 pm, the hood of my car flew up and hit my windshield. To say I screamed like a girl puts it about right. I wasn’t hurt but my poor car took a nice hit. The repairs will cost a bit… $1600! Amazing what a few dents (replace the hood) can add up to be. But I am not hurt and it is just one of those things that happens. Nothing planned, just one of those things we have to deal with. I see a new car in my future. I am talking about a week or less future. I really liked that car, too.
Tomorrow I leave again..in a rental car…for Morehead City, NC. The car would be hurt when I have so many drive to jobs.
Next week should be fun. My brother in law, known here as Superman, is going to help me with the studio. Better known as the ‘cave’ or by my little three year old niece, the garage. It is a huge mess. After living here for over 2 years and making many quilts in there it has never really gotten fixed up, straighten or even clean or unpacked. I will take pictures so you can watch the fun. Superman is even going to put some insulation on the door. He has already put in the air conditioner. Life is looking good!
One day I hope to have a studio where I can walk around instead of stepping over crap and walking in paths around things. Hey, a girl can dream can’t she?
If you aren’t busy and happen to be in the area this Sunday, come over and help with the removal of boxes of stuff that I no longer need or want. There has to be something in there that I can rid myself of. Shelves are going up for the bolts! I am SO excited!
Until the next time, stay cool, smile every day and do one nice thing for someone else.
